Prayer
The foundation of the vision of Houses of Light (formerly Neighbourhood Prayer Network) is prayer. We encourage Christians to pray for their neighbours at least once a week and suggest Friday.

Weekly Prayers
Once you sign up to pray for your street, you will receive a weekly newsletter with a weekly prayer to pray. Our newsletters are sent out on Fridays.
Getting started
We advise that you pray for 5 houses and the people in them each week. Every time you leave your house, pray a general blessing over your street. You might want to pray the Lord’s prayer over your street at midday each day, asking that God’s Kingdom and will be done on the street where you live.
Prayer Walking: Our prayer walking strategy is called ‘A Mile with Jesus’ Every time you leave your home, pray for your street as you walk. Please see the A Mile with Jesus section of the website, for resources to help you.
Prayer guides and Outreach ideas
Houses of Light (formerly Neighbourhood Prayer Network) has produced several prayer guides/resources, which can be found in our resource section. Many of these resources are being updated or written this year and will be added to the website as time goes on.

We usually produce a 40-day prayer guide once a year.

We have a community prayer guide to help you pray for your wider neighbourhood.

The Emergency Prayer Guide is for situations that some of your neighbours may face. but does include some national catastrophes as well.
